SATURDAY MORNING WARNING TO ALL CATS.  DON’T DO THIS. If you have a cat, and your cat does not have internet access, please show him this warning.  For more pictures of “this may end badly”, go to the link, farther down on this page…

BRIAN SMITH is the same Brian Smith of  SMITH AND BARBER, THE MORNING SHOW on WPLR….his solo afternoon talk show on WICC 600AM..and as host and announcer for the Fairfield University Stags basketball games at Harbor Yard… and formerly for the Bridgeport Bluefish …  and as an anchorman at FM NEWS NEW YORK in New York City… you can email him at… (just type this address into your email “to” area)…

THE VOICE is spending his weekend at “Amazicon“… a pop-culture memorabilia convention… he’s looking to procure more exhibits for The Prognosticator Grill and Cafe… and early reports are he may be purchasing the Starsky and Hutch car to put into the NASCAR room… (pending mechanical inspection)… and one of his assistants texted this morning, saying negotiations are underway to film an episode of “The Walking Dead” at the Prognosticator Hotel… stay tuned for more…  for more on “Amazicon”, go to their website, click (here)…  THE VOICE still has 2 teams in THE FINAL FOUR... for his sports predictions and insights on all sports, including this week, WORLD SERIES ODDS…  NFL FREE AGENCY… ARENA FOOTBALL.. and, of course, CHEERLEADERS… go to the World’s Best Sports Pick Page, click (here)…

TARGET ANGERS THE “PLUS-SIZED” CROWD…  Target advertised plus-sized dresses on its website, and one of the color options was “Manatee Gray”… in smaller sizes, it was listed as “Dark Heather Gray“… some larger-framed people complained… perhaps hesitant about wearing something on their larger frames the color associated with the lovely “sea cow”… and for now, the dress, in all sizes, is not available on Target’s website… for the story, from MyFoxNy, click (here)…

THE 20 RICHEST MUSICIANS OF ALL TIME… I’ll give you one from this chart… Paul McCartney is number 2…  for the list, click (here)… in my personal world, Paul McCartney goes on trial for creating the song “Wonderful Christmastime”, and his entire fortune is taken away and used to remove all known copies of the song from record collectors and the internet.  Really. I’m so serious about this that even in my own personal world, I don’t use some of the money to buy myself a Corvette.

40 YEARS LATER… SPORTS HOAX REVEALED… Attention, winners of the 1972 Leo G. Hershberger Award from the National Association of Collegiate Basketball Writers... the “All-America Team” for which you were chosen… was a hoax… in fact.. SO WAS the National Association of Collegiate Basketball Writers… and, in fact… so was New York sportswriter LEO G. HERSHBERGER… he never existed… oh, the framed awards were real… made up by four college students with nothing to do before the internet and The Walking Dead took away our youth…  but it was all just elaborate make-believe… and it “went viral ” before that meant anything other than what you caught in the back room of a Florida bar during Spring Break…  read about it, from The Wall Street Journal, click (here)... or, for a more passive experience, watch the 3 minute video (after a 15 second commercial), also from The Wall Street Journal, click (here)….

PIC FIX... it’s Saturday morning… what could be better than some pictures of the moments before someone should have done something to prevent disaster… check out the “This Will End Badly” series of pictures from MSN, click (here)…

…Have a good Saturday, and if you are in the CT/NYC/Long Island area… maybe the ice age we have been living through will let up a little this weekend… drive safely, and thanks for listening… Brian
