DON’T WORRY CLINT… I’ve had a lot of dates end up the same way… usually I just keep talking for a while, pay the waiter, and leave before the other people in the restaurant call 911.

Clint Eastwood comedy improv becomes a partisan kickfest…

The biggest Labor Day Parade in the tri-state area… the Newtown Labor Day Parade is Monday…

Sports predictions from THE VOICE… and more…

BRIAN SMITH is the same Brian Smith of (the former)  SMITH AND BARBER, THE MORNING SHOW on WPLR… his (former) solo afternoon talk show on WICC 600AM, and (the once) host announcer for the Bridgeport Bluefish baseball and the Fairfield University Stags basketball games at Harbor Yard… and more recently… part of the team at (the now defunct)  FM NEWS NEW YORK 101.9FM in New York City… you can email him at:

CLINT EASTWOOD MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARS AT REPUBLICAN CONVENTION…

Why were the cable networks calling Mr. Eastwood the “mystery speaker” throughout the afternoon on Thursday?  If you know who it is, and when he will speak, it’s no mystery.  The mystery is why do humans default to such silliness of semantics.  Whatever happened to critical thinking?  (Answer: Independent thinking and analysis borne from disciplined contemplation don’t pull in the lazy multitudes to create ratings.  It’s the reality of the business.)

CLINT ARGUES WITH AN EMPTY CHAIR… FUNNY OR WEIRD?… be careful… you can’t react in public without taking sides.  He is a performer.  He shocked a few people, but, whatever your opinion of his performance, he created a buzz about the political convention that took it “out of the box”.  That’s what a successful entertainer does.

BOB NEWHART made a career out of creating comedic one-sided conversations.  In fact, after Mr. Eastwood’s routine last night, Bob Newhart tweeted he was getting his lawyers ready to sue.

51st ANNUAL NEWTOWN LABOR DAY PARADE… it’s the biggest Labor Day Parade in the area… maybe the world (ok, maybe not.. but in the area)… it starts Monday morning at noon… for more information go to NewtownCTLaborDayParade.org… or, for your convenience, just click (here)…

THE VOICE is getting ready for Labor Day by clearing out all old televisions from The Prognosticator Grille and Cafe and putting in all new 80″ screen televisions on every wall… one for each game…  Also, new for this year at The Prognosticator… THE VOICE has hired Carl Lanstemere, 2011 Orson Welles Impersonator of the Year (International Award) to do a one-person monologue of Jets’ games as they happen… Look for him in the Namath Room… and wait until you hear him pronounce “Tee-Bohwww”…  Check out this week’s predictions from THE VOICE… go to the SPORTS PICK page, or just click (here)..

It’s the Labor Day Weekend… have fun, drive safe.. and thank for listening… Brian
